Administration
Thomas Pollreis
Head of School
Thomas is thrilled to be in his first administrative role at LMSS, where he has the privilege of guiding this amazing school into the future. Providing students with an authentic Montessori experience is an honor and a great responsibility that he takes very seriously.
Before embarking on his teaching career, Thomas graduated from Winona State with a degree in Elementary Education. He then served on active duty in the Air Force for four years. After his military service, Thomas returned to Minnesota, where he taught multiple elementary grade levels in Swanville for five years and then spent a year teaching special education in Osakis. During this time, he also obtained his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, which inspired his transition to an administrative role where he could work with both adults and students.
Outside of his professional life, Thomas enjoys spending quality time with his family, which includes his wife and young son, as well as their two beloved dogs. When they’re not playing in the yard or watching sports, the family can often be found biking, hiking, walking, or exploring the beautiful region around La Crescent, where they reside. Thomas feels deeply connected to this area and cannot imagine being anywhere else.
Thomas is honored to be part of the LMSS community and is excited about the bright future that lies ahead. He welcomes any questions, concerns, or opportunities for casual conversation that members of the school community may have.
TAMMY STREMCHA
Director of Operations
Tammy began working at LMSS in 2012 as the Director of Financial Operations. Her position has morphed into what it is today, and she officially accepted the position of Director of Operations in 2017. She enjoys helping to ensure the success of the students and school through her work in the office.
Tammy was born and raised in the area, graduating from ISD300 many years ago. High school was a favorite time in her life, until, of course, she met her husband, Jason. They married in 2006 and have one son together. His name is Hunter, and he attends La Crescent Montessori & STEM School.
In her spare time, she enjoy reading and watching movies. In addition, she is an avid supporter of community involvement and volunteerism. Currently, her volunteer passion is focused on Applefest here in La Crescent. She also sits on the Board of Directors for the La Crescent Chamber of Commerce and Tourism. Tammy loves that LMSS encourages the students to look beyond themselves to positively impact the world around them through kindness, education and volunteerism.
