Hello, and welcome to Montessori Corner, the official blog of La Crescent Montessori & STEM School. The goal of this blog is to help communicate with parents and students about what is happening inside the walls of LMSS, to share helpful tips, strategies, and ideas, and to promote curiosity and inquiry about our children’s planes of development. Our goal for each blog post is to be short and sweet, and hopefully provide you with something to think about or a new action to take.
Staff and volunteers have been busy preparing for this exciting unveiling. Who knew how much time and effort it takes to create a new website?! Well, now we know—Ms. Tammy (in the office) has been “working” on it for about two years, never really getting anywhere because, well, it simply wasn’t the priority. Then an amazing group of parent volunteers came together (the PR committee) and offered to take the lead. Ms. Tammy was ecstatic! This fine group of people has been working on this amazing, beautiful, user friendly, new website for almost a year, and here it is! Take a look around, see what LMSS is all about.
There are so many new things happening at LMSS! Many of you may know already, but the wood floor located on the first floor of our building is the original skating rink floor from many years ago. Staff removed everything from the classrooms and offices early this summer. Since then, Mrs. Wehman and Ms. Tammy have been working in the gym. Now that the floors are done and they are back to their original glory, we are ready to move back into our regular spaces.
But of course, when opportunity knocks, we at least open the door! So, during our “move back in” week, we will be switching up one more thing—CH and E1 classrooms will be swapping! Now, when you enter the building, the first classroom you will come to is Children’s House. This will help to alleviate some of the congestion in the hallway. Cubbies will be located inside the classroom, so parents will be able to say goodbye to their littles at the classroom door, and staff will take over with helping them prepare for the day. Feel free to stop in and take a look at all of the beautification efforts we have made! Mrs. Wehman and Ms. Tammy always enjoy a summer hello!
