Stephanie Wehman, Head of School
Stephanie Wehman joined La Crescent Montessori & STEM School as the Head of School in July, 2017. Her life before LMSS has been focused on education in a variety of venues. For the past six years, Stephanie served as the Head of School at another Minnesota Montessori charter school. She has eleven years experience as a Montessori elementary educator in charter and private schools. She has worked as a Montessori consultant and Dean of Schools as well. In the midst of all of this, Stephanie also spent several years homeschooling her children. Montessori education is a passion and, as you may guess from her work history, so is school choice. In addition to her work at LMSS, Stephanie currently supervises Montessori student teachers for the University of Wisconsin at River Falls and is an instructor for the Christian Montessori Training Center at Bethany Global University. Stephanie has an MA degree in Education and is Montessori certified at the elementary level.
Tammy began working at LMSS in 2012 as the Director of Financial Operations. Her position morphed into what it is today, and she officially accepted the position of Director of Operations in 2017. Tammy enjoys helping to ensure the success of the students and school through her work in the office. Tammy was born and raised in the area, graduating from ISD 300 many years ago. High school was a favorite time in her life, until, of course, she met her husband, Jason. They married in 2006 and have one son together. His name is Hunter, and he attends La Crescent Montessori & STEM School. In her spare time, Tammy enjoys reading and watching movies. In addition, she is an avid supporter of community involvement and volunteerism. Currently, her volunteer passion is focused on Applefest here in La Crescent. She loves that LMSS encourages the students to look beyond themselves to positively impact the world around them through kindness, education and volunteerism.
